Btdt Freezing meals before new baby comes
So my third is on her way this friday and withe the recovery and having two kids to have to take care of on top of my newborn I thought it would be smart to cook a big meal or two so that we could have a couple of leftovers
So my question is how is meatloaf from the freezer? Frozen ziti? And how do u defrost these meals? And how do u reheat them? Tia!!!!

I always freeze extra meatloaf and it comes out great. I vacuum seal them which helps but as long as you seal them tightly I'm sure it would be good. I take it out the night before to defrost in the fridge. Then just microwave for a super quick, no clean up meal. Just slice it first and space the pieces out a tiny bit before heating so the middle gets hot. I do the same with all kinds of leftovers.
I'm not a huge fan of ziti from the freezer but I do it sometimes. I find that lasagna comes out better. I also do big batches of meat sauce and freeze that so I can put it over fresh pasta or make ziti with it.
My other favorites to freeze are chili, taco meat, honey baked ham, homemade chicken nuggets.

Re: Btdt Freezing meals before new baby comes
Before DS was born I made and frozen baked ziti and a mushroom lasagna. I prepared them as I normally would, but didn't do the final bake. (i.e. I cooked the pasta and layered everything into a tray but did not bake it). When we were ready to eat it, I left it in the fridge for 2 days to thaw, and then baked it as usual. Both tasted perfect and you wouldn't have known they were frozen. You may just want to add a little more sauce than usual to keep it moist.
I never make meatloaf, but I've frozen hamburgers and turkey burgers and both are good frozen, too.
