BTDT moms - Weaning from Breastfeeding
I just weaned my 6 month old daughter from breastfeeding. We slowly introduced more and more bottles of formula for about a month, until Saturday, where I stopped completely after her morning feeding. Now I am feeling the engorgement that everyone talks about so I have a few questions:
1. How long did it take for the milk supply to dry up?
2. How did you relieve engorgement?
3. How long did you feel engorged?
4. Is it bad to express just a little bit of milk to help with the pain? Will that make me produce more milk instead of less?
Any other tips would be much appreciated. Thanks

Re: BTDT moms - Weaning from Breastfeeding
It took me about 10-14 days to completely dry up and not feel engorged. I ended up using cabbage leaves in my bra at the end b/c I was in so much pain. I would pump only when I really felt I had to.

Re: BTDT moms - Weaning from Breastfeeding
I relieved the engorgement by just pumping off a little bit. So I would do that- just until you're comfortable.
I also took Sudafed and I think that also helped.
I think I'm still a little leaky (I stopped completely a little over a week ago) but I am not uncomfortable.
