BTDT moms

I just want to start off by saying that this pregnancy was very planned.
for the past 2 days I've just been so down, I wouldnt call it depressed but I'just wonder if I will be a good mother, and all these stupid thoughts, like will I love my child. I never worried or thought about this but now its just starting to go through my head.
I also dont feel pregnant, I'm 17 weeks and I only gained a few pounds, no m/s, only a couple of lbs of weight gain, i feel no kicking, i know im pregnant but i feel sometimes that it just hasnt hit me yet. I also have such stupid dreams, like last night that i forgot to feed the baby and i didnt know/want to breastfeed and i was just giving my DC water with sugar. Such stupid dreams. I dont know whats the matter with me. Can someone tell me that these things are normal during pregnancy?

Re: BTDT moms

totally normal. from a BTDT mom, once your baby is born, natural instincts kick in and you will know exactly what to do

I never changed a diaper before dd was born. The first time for me was in the hospital

It is trial and error, you will do great Chat Icon

Totally normal, and unfortunately you are probably going to feel this way until you hold your baby in your arms. The second you do it will all make sense and you will have this instinct on what to do (and if you don't have the instinct on certain things...well, that's what we're here for)

Pregnancy is the scariest thing you can go through in my opinion. So many emotions, your hormones are out of whack, and at the end of it all you are coming home with a little life that you are responsible for. It is soooo scary and everyone goes through this! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: BTDT moms

I have had similar feelings as well. For me it got even scarier at my 20 week ultrasound after I found out it was a little girl, and I saw her in there looking like a little person. I just felt such an enormous sense of responsibility to keep her safe and protected.... All of your feelings are very normal, and I just know that all of the responsibilities will come very naturally once the baby is born!

Re: BTDT moms

i think we all have these fears. I wonder too what kind of mom i will be..how i'll handle everything. I know im pregnant and i feel like crud...but part of me hasnt connected to it yet...i guess im still fearful of the worst as im only 8 weeks.

its normal..in the end we'll all be fine.

Re: BTDT moms

it is totally normal. Once your little bundle of joy is there your motherly instincts kick in and your tired exhausted but in love.
Hang in there. Once you start to feel the little flutters and kicks it will be more real for you.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
