BTDT MOMS Crib TRASITION
ok so my son has been in our room in a cradle, he almost 10 weeks, do u thinkg its better to transition no rather than later...will he not notice as much...i love him being in my room, and his crib seems so big and lonely, but i dont want to create a problem later on..

Re: BTDT MOMS Crib TRASITION
Personally, IMO i think earlier the better.
We did both girls around 8 weeks old, they slept so much better in their cribs and we slept so much better with them out of our room.
Thank goodness though for my video monitor, otherwise i wouldnt' have been able to sleep
ETA: They always napped in their cribs and we did bed time cold turkey It's always harder on mommy/daddy then the baby

Re: BTDT MOMS Crib TRASITION
I put Jack in his crib at 2 1/2 months. He was just too big for the bassinet at that point.
It was really easy actually. I have the video monitor though - and I think I watched it for the first three nights all night long.

I waited till 3.5mos and I should have done it sooner. He slept much better in the crib.

Re: BTDT MOMS Crib TRASITION
I agree...sooner rather than later is better.
We put DS in his crib at 5 days old and while we had some problems here and there...it really wasn't too bad. By around 4 months he would actually hug the mattress when he went in.

Re: BTDT MOMS Crib TRASITION
we kept putting off the transiition and then DH got a stomach flu so it was cold turkey. He was fine, had not issues. I on the other hand check him like 10 times a night....
ETA: that was about 2 or 3 weeks ago now, and we haven't had one issue

Re: BTDT MOMS Crib TRASITION
DD slept in her bassinet next to my head for 3 months. She transitioned very well into the crib with no problems. I would split her daytime naps between the pack n play in the living room and her crib to get her used to it. I was so nervous about the transition and thankfully for us it went smoothly

Re: BTDT MOMS Crib TRASITION
We started at 8 weeks, because he was getting too big for the bassinet. I started having him nap in the crib for a few days in a row, then naps and nighttime in the crib - never went back to the bassinet.
I actually slept better without him in my room - I didn't wake up with every noise or heavy breathing.

Re: BTDT MOMS Crib TRASITION
we just did a week ago, at 6 weeks, he was in cradle in our room and he seems to really like the crib....the room is right across the hallway and honestly we sleep better now as well. He was really getting too big for the cradle.....and I am oroud to say he slept SIX hours straight last night in his crib!!!!!
