BTDT moms i need some help with sick baby and now sleep regression
DS is 4.5 months. He started sttn the night when we was around 3 months. There were some random nights here and there but nothing major. Things started to go downhill right after Thanksgiving. He started rolling back to belly and then he would wake up and we could not get him to go back to sleep. We rubbed, shushed, rrocked, nursed and he would fall asleep and then as soon and we put him in his crib he would wake up. Then he got sick with an ear infection and croup last week and his sleeping situation got worse. He just wanted to be held or in the swing. One night we had to drive around at 1:30am just to get him back to sleep! I could understand the week he was sick and the not sleeping. We think he is feeling better but he still waking up multiple times and giving us such a hard time going back to sleep. I can't really let him cry it out to long b/c we live with my parents and they both need to be up for work. Do you think this is a phase or could something else be going on? Any advice would be great. TIA

Does he take a binky?
Do you swaddle or WERE you swaddling & stopped?
Does he have a "lovey"?

He won't suck on the binky anymore. He just chomps on it. He hasn't been swaddled for long time and we haven't tried a lovey it. My DH is afraid to leave anything in the crib

I know with DS....we had to switch binkys till we found one he liked.
How about noise machines or a fan blowing for noise in the room....that helps DS tremendously (we travel with our fan anywhere we go that he has to sleep!!!)
I think @ his age he is too young for CIO anyhow...so that won't work yet.
eventually it gets better

Re: BTDT moms i need some help with sick baby and now sleep regression
sounds like teething, my DD got her first teeth at 4.5 months and now were working on 2 more and she still wont sleep.
Good thing is. once the teeth come in they'll usually go back to sleeping. bad thing is...there's always more teeth.
We use the baby orajel and it seems to help.
