Moms of 2 or more- sleep regression and new baby question
The past few nights, Aidan has been waking up in the middle of the night. We tried to let him cry (in the past he would cry for 15 min. max and then stop) but it hasn't been working lately. Tonight, I did the whole bedtime routine that we've done since he was born and he went down fine. Not even 5 minutes later, he began screaming and crying for me. I went back in and restarted the whole bedtime routine, even making it longer. He laid down without a problem and about 2 minutes later started screaming and crying again. I don't know what to do.
he never had a lovey before, even though we tried to give him things. Last night I offered something and he took it. He had no problems last night. Tonight he took the lovey again and also took something else. It's not working now.
Anyone else have this happen? How long did it last and how did you handle it?

Re: Moms of 2 or more- sleep regression and new baby question
This happened with my older DD. She became impossible to put to bed.
But we kept her routine the same and that seemed to help.
My younger DD is 4 months old, and things are definitely a lot better now. She has her days, but I chalk it up to her just being 2.
Hang in there.

Thanks, Sarah!
It's so hard... How did you handle DD's refusal to sleep? Did you just let her cry?

Re: Moms of 2 or more- sleep regression and new baby question
we do CIO for her.
Only if she is hysterical, do we go in.
And with the beauty of being potty trained, she now plays the "i have to go pee pee, you take me?" card.
but that only happens once in a while.

Re: Moms of 2 or more- sleep regression and new baby question
This happened ( is happening with DD). She has been waking up around 4am ish and we wind up taking her in our bed. I know its a bad habit though. One night last week I went in to her room and laid on the floor next to her for about 15 minutes while she fell back asleep.

Re: Moms of 2 or more- sleep regression and new baby question
DS is two weeks old and this is def a problem with DD. She refuses to sleep in her bed at night and stopped napping, so we let her sleep in bed with us. I dont have any answers. She is way to vocal and strong for COI, which we used before. I think I just have to wait for her to out grow this.

We are going through this now with JJ & Nicholas is not even home yet. It seems ever since I came back from the hospital, he began waking several times a night. Even going to bed is a hassle.

Re: Moms of 2 or more- sleep regression and new baby question
Thanks ladies for posting. Glad (well, not really!) to see that I am not alone. We let him cry and he cried for under 15 minutes before going to sleep. It kills me. Hopefully he will sleep through the night.
Good luck to all of you! If you need support, just FM me,
