BTDT Moms" Lots of hiccups while pregnant mean issues after birth?
This little boy has hiccups all the time, DD never did, maybe once or twice but this little boy has them at least once a day, today he has had them twice, once was while the midwife was using the doppler and I got to hear the hiccups which was neat but I forgot to ask about them. Does frequent hiccups mean issues after they born with reflux or other issues?

DS rarely had the hiccups when I was pregnant.. Maybe a half dozen times. He had horrible reflux... My cousins DD had them from early on in the pregnancy... She had the hiccups in the delivery room right after she was born!!! Nothing wrong with her. Just a hiccuppy baby. She is now 17 and if she laughs too much, she gets them. Been like that since she was a baby!!

Hiccups are incredibly common in babies in utero. My son had them at least once a day, sometimes even 2 or 3 times in a day! He never had any reflux or any similar issues. The majority of babies are big hiccuppers- nothing to worry about!

my son is only 5 days old so it's hard for me to say but he had hiccups alot in utero and he still gets them often now that he's here...but he hasn't had any other issues besides the hiccups themselves. he's only even spit up once since being born & doesn't appear to have any other digestive discomfort...except farting...but i think that comes more from his daddy

Em had hiccups like CRAZY in utero and once she was out in the real world - same thing. i asked the doc - ob, everyone - it's nothing major. :)

dd always had hiccups than when she was born she always hadthem. she did have reflux but not that bad. now that shes 1 she gets them every once and a while.
idk if they are related tho...its a good question

Same. She always has hiccups but they don't bother her and she has no issues.

I never knew if she had hiccups- I couldn't tell the difference between that and gas in my belly!
(I was never good with discerning movements back then!  )
And to be honest- what I THOUGHT was hiccups back then, must have been gas, because I still feel it now, and I am most certainly not preggo!

DS1 always had hiccups - hours every day - and he was a gassy baby and a tough burp.
DS2 has hardly any, i'm curious to see how he comes out

DS had hiccups multiple times per day from 30w and on. no reflux issues but he did have a milk protein allergy. he also continued with the hiccups for the first few months after birth.

My DD had hiccups all the time during pregnancy and got them quite often as a NB, but she never had reflux. I think she got them a lot because I had an overactive let down (BFing) and she drank fast and took in tons of air. They eventually went away as my supply evened out. Now she gets them once in a blue moon.

When i was preggo DD had hiccups all the time mostly after I ate something. I can tell you how lucky I am that she was not a gassy/colicky baby. I never had issues with reflux. I don't think there is any correlation though.

DS had hiccups ALL THE TIME in utero and had gas problems so he went on Good Start formula and then was fine. DD did not hiccup a lot and had silent reflux and still even spits up once and a while at 15mos old.

DS had hiccups ALL the time in utero and even after he came out and had Bad reflux issues! I don't think they have anything to do with each other though.

DS had lots of hiccups both before and after birth. He also had reflux and was colicky.... so I don't know if it's related or not, but that's my experience!

DS had them all the time while I was pg. He now gets them everyday since he has been born - he doesn't have reflux but he did spit up alot. He still spits up at 3 months but a lot less since I switched formulas

Both my DC had hiccups at least once a day while I was pregnant. After they still had them, DD more so than DS. Neither had any reflux issues,but they both spit up.
