BTDT Moms of 2 under 2 -- where to put car seats?
DS is 18 mos old and I'm due in early Nov with DS#2.
How do you arrange the car seats in the backseat with two of them?
I think older DS sould be behind the passenger seat b/c he faces forward and I can see him, hand him things, reach him, etc. That would let me have the infant seat behind the driver's seat.
What worked for you?

Ds will be 16 months when #2 is born..we plan on putting ds on the driver side and baby #2 on the passenger side.. we have a minivan so this way ds can walk through then i can load the baby in, go around and hook him in.... otherwise i would be walking around the car over and over

Exactly what you are thinking is what works for us. And even though they say mirrors aren't safe in the backseat to view the child, I still use one. I put it on the headrest behind the driver's seat and then I can see the baby in my rear view mirror.

DD#1 was behind the passenger seat - but on recommendation of the car seat inspector I moved her behind the driver. I can still see her in my rear view mirror and hand her items.
Keep in mind that you have to move the front seat up when putting the infant seat in - and if you are taller you might have a problem whereas it is less important that the passenger side have that leg room.

We moved DS's convertible seat behind the driver's side and put DD (baby #2) behind the passenger's side. Both kids are rear facing and 17 months apart.

DD is behind the driver's seat already...so the baby will go behind the passenger seat

Re: BTDT Moms of 2 under 2 -- where to put car seats?
I just asked this question last week because I was unsure what to do with the carseats.
Everyone said to put the baby behind the passenger seat - and move my son to behind the drivers side.
I have to say, it is def. taking some getting used to, trying to pass things back isn't as easy, and also I can't see him as well (I'm hoping this will change once I can actually turn my body when I'm not preggo anymore)
I believe they recommend the youngest being behind the passenger

Infant seat was behind the driver seat, toddler seat was behind the passenger seat. My theory was, I didn't have to walk around the car. I could take out the infant seat & the toddler climbed to the open driver's side door.
Worked well for us.
