Preggo here with a question for you moms re: Car Seats / Strollers
We are pretty sure that we want to get the Bugaboo Frog stroller, but we are totally debating car seats. If some of you BTDT moms could weigh in on this we would be so grateful.
We know that the Peg Perego and the Gracco are the 2 that are compatible with the Bugaboo, but the Chicco Key Fit infant car seat is the only one that is recommended by Consumer Reports.
The Peg Perego has high marks too though and it would probably make sense to get that one since its compatible with the stroller we want, but I wanted to see what all you ladies think because the negative things we've heard about it are that it's heavy, and the baby grows out of it really quickly.
What would you do? Get the Peg Perego, or the Chicco Key Fit and just not attach it to the stroller ever? Do you find yourselves using the car seat in the stroller for a while? Is it super helpful? Does anyone have the Bugaboo frog and not like it?
Thanks so much!

I don't have the frog stroller... I don't have the peg perego or the snugride.. but I do use my car seat with a stroller base (snap n go) and it is very convenient and light weight. A lot of my friends have the graco snugride and love it. I believe it is also lighter and less $$ than the peg perego.

ALL car seats on the market passed the safety inspection so they are all safe. I found with consumer reports, they didn't test all car seats and it didn't really reflect the real life experiences (check amazon.com for reivews on each seat for better reviews). You are definately going to want a car seat that is compatible with a storller frame (whether it;s a snap and go or the bugaboo or something else). Those carriers are HEAVY and if you end up with a c/s you won't want to be lugging anything for a few weeks. The snap and go was a life saver for me!! I had the Graco Safe seat and loved it. DS was very comfortable in it (until he outgrew it!). It was fairly easy to use and one of the cheaper models out there.

Thanks so much!! We heard good things about the Gracco too. SIL had recommended the Peg Perego and Consumer Reports recommended the Chicco so that's why we were between the 2, but we could totally get the Gracco.

I have the Graco Snugride & was very happy with it----it was highly rated in the babybargains book and I had no problems. I personally wouldn't get the Chicco (not that its not a good carseat)---I would atleast want the option of being able to keep the baby in the carseat and snap it into the stroller. It is nice in the beginning when they sleep a lot, you don't have to take the baby in and out of the car seat everytime you get out of the car or whatever.

The peg perego is the WORST seat ever! A ton of ladies on here would agree. The new version of the seat in particular the SIP 30-30 is the one I am talking about. The older ones were better. This is why I hate it: at almost 300 bucks the seat is outgrown incredibly fast. My DD is not huge but I had to move her out of that seat at 4 months! It does not have an ergonomic handle and it is extremely heavy. I have yet to meet a mom whose kid fit until they were 30 pounds or 30 inches. My DD was 14 pounds when she outgrew it. I really suggest you don't get it.

I would get a Graco snugride or safeseat. I had the safeseat and I loooooved it. DD used it until she was 10 months old. Its very easy to use. My BFF had the Peg car seat and she said it was really heavy. She had the 30/30 one and for some reason her baby always looked smooshed in it. She also said it was a PITA to take off the covers to wash.
I have a Bugaboo and I love it. I just came back from using it with DD today and its so effortless to push even with 25+ lbs of baby. I would definitely recommend it. You won't regret it. Its light, steers like a dream and is narrow so it is easy to maneuver in stores...we just came back from Kohls and it fit in the aisles with ease.

The Chicco is a great seat, but there is no problem buying the Graco Snugride. Ignore Consumer reports with regard to car seats. They have had it wrong more times than not. All seats are tested and safe. But the Graco knowing you have a safe seat that installs easily and can be used safely every time.
