BTDT moms (or moms to be!)...regarding "baby brain" & work

I just registered for a 3 day seminar that will be very useful in getting a promotion I'm after. I work in downtown NYC and the seminar is in midtown so no big deal there. After the seminar there is an exam as well. I will be about 35-36 weeks at the time. Do you think my mind will be in it? I really want to get it overwith as I'll be on maternity leave for 6 months and would love to have this behind me. Thoughts??

I'm 35-36 wks and having a tough time concentrating. That said, if I had something I KNEW I needed to pay close attention to I'm sure I could do it Chat Icon I say go for it! Good luck!

Right? I really want this promotion and I'm so excited about this seminar. It's just that lately with everything I'm total "placenta brain" (as my boss refers to it). I think I can do it though...I hope I can. Eeeek.

Can you retake it again if for some reason you dont pass? If so, it cant hurt to try. Is it an interesting seminar? I went to a conference last week and was surprised at how much I retained because I was interested. Not much else is being retained up there lately Chat Icon

I'd do it.

I have a cognitively challenging job: I have a tough time with recollection (esp. naming) at work. I can do it, it just takes me longer... an example would be Jeopardy: I KNOW the material, I just have trouble with the name recall.

I have no trouble with judgment, speed in decision making, technical skills, ect.

I think you will be fine. The exam will probably be multiple choice. Get it over with while you can focus on it.

I just called and explained my situation. They said I can take the test there OR at home at my leisure. Ok, definitely going to do it now!! Thanks ladies!
