BTDT Moms, was breastfeeding LESS painful the second time around?
I remember having a very difficult time breastfeeding in the beginning. I was in a lot of pain. I bought tons of gel soothies.
Will it be better the second time around since I know how to breastfeed?
Or should I expect the same pain initially?

I think it is different for everyone and depends alot on the child but, for me it was 1000000% better the second time. With my first I had so many issues the first 6 wks, immense pain, bleeding, cracking etc. I even ended up with mastitis. With my second I had issues ONLY in the hospital. By the time we got home I had NO problems whatsoever - NOTHING. It was amazing! Hope the same happens for you
P.S. It is really funny - I put a post just like this up before I had number 2. It was SOOOOO bad with DS I was literally traumatized and so afraid for nursing my DD since I would also have a toddler to take care of.
ETA: Here is my old post - maybe the responses can help you as well Post

sadly NO & I almost gave up with #2...BUT thankfully someone listended in the hospital I was introduced to those gell soothy things you put in the fridge and I made it through!
I knew how to latch them on, YET DD woudn't get it and it was painful and I had to heal all over again! but she is now 6 months old and I am so glad I stuck with it with her too.
