BTDT Moms: Weaning from the bottle & transition to whole milk

I want to have DS off the bottle and trasitioned to whole milk by the end of the year. He is 10 months old right now. His 1st birthday is 12/11 and he will be starting daycare 3 days/week in January.

Which should I attempt first? And how?

DS is with my mom during the week while we work. I was thinking of telling her not to give him anymore bottles and give him his formula in sippy cups. and then in a few weeks when he is 11 months, start trasitioning to milk in the sippys?

I started him on a straw sippy filled with water a few weeks a go and he is doing really well with it.


Any suggestions would be appreciated!

start now mixing the formula half milk half formula and eventually lessen formula he's 10 months i really suggest doing it now and being consistent. We did not do it as recommended and DD does not like milk we have to buy the enfamil next step.
As for the weaning she did herself she only has a bottle in the morning and night she has sippy cups, box juices and water all day

ETS: that morning bottle is more of a covenince thing for us as we are getting ready for work we can't have her playing with her sippy

we actually did both at the same time... he was 10 months when i started introducing milk... and at the same time i started giving him the sippys... he was, by 11 months, bottle free and on whole milk

We started introducing milk the week she turned 1, she was fully transitioned by the end of the week! Each day - I increased the milk /formula ratio by 1oz.

Bottle - we went cold turkey the following week.
