BTDT moms who saw a perinatologist weekly... Size of baby
I'm just wondering if the size estimated during your visits was close to what the baby weighed at birth?
I can see how the ob's measurements could be off since it's a pretty quick sono scan, but I'm putting a lot of stock in the measurements of my perinatologist since the measurements are VERY detailed... often taking over an hour to do! They do complete anatomical scans. The measurements have been consistently in the 80th and 90th percentiles since my weekly visits since week 28.
At 34 weeks, my perinatologist is estimating 6.3 pounds and the ob is estimating 5.9 pounds... Pretty close! My perinatologist says the baby is going to walk out and said he pictured it happening like the alien at the end of the movie Spaceballs who dances out of the guys' stomach in the diner. Lol. I wonder if my son will have a top hat and cane!? Lol. DH is convinced he's gonna be "jacked" and have a goatee!

Mine was off by a full pound. At 37 weeks baby was est 7.8, born at 37w2d at 6.8. But baby was long, so I think the femur was throwing off their measurements.

They told us he was measuring 6 lbs 4 oz at our 35 week appt. (I'm 38 weeks now). OB said at my last appt. that he's in the 67th percentile and measuring a little big.
My SIL was told she was having a 9 lb. baby and my nephew wound up being 6 lbs. 14 oz. And when we went to Lamaze a couple of weeks ago the instructor said those sonos can be off.
