BTDT of 2 kids+ who kept newborn #2 home away from people
If you kept #2 newborn inside for 8 week ( or whatever time you decided).... What did you do with your second kid?
We are pulling our 3 year old out of daycare while I'm on maternity leave, then they'll both go back in( save money, and less germs too)
Did one parent take kid #1 places while other parent stayed home with newborn? What kinda places did you feel safe taking your first kid to?
I'd imagine places like Chuckie Cheese would be too germy. But then places like visiting relatives I could see the relatives having a sickness they just haven't started to show symptoms(since cold could take 2 days and rsv could take 4-6 days) then kiss my kid and my kid bring the germs home...

I also pulled my other child out of daycare to save money. He was also healthier being home. However, I am not the person who keeps my newborn home. I am out and about right away especially if its outdoors. Fresh air is great and you can still take child #1 to the park etc. Just make sure their hands are cleaned before touching the baby. I also always used a mosquito net b/c strangers were less likely to ask to touch the baby LOL

We do have a nice swingset/clubhouse in the backyard and plan to take walks too but #2 is coming in October when it will start getting colder.
I wonder what #1 can do that I won't worry about him getting sick being outside our house/backyard - because I easily see him touch his eyes or mouth without thinking.

We didn't stay home. We would all go out as a family to the grocery store, to a get together, dinner with friends, etc etc.
We just didn't pass the baby around and kept him close. We also didn't let other small kids touch him or get close.

We had plans to take DS #1 out of daycare to save money, also, but ended up keeping him in through the end of the school year. My twins were born at the end of April and I really didn't take them anywhere for a couple of months. By the time the school year ended, DH was home for the summer and we could "tag team."
