Buy formula now for when baby arrives?
I don't plan on BF, so I was thinking I should have at least a small stock of diapers and formula on hand for when we get back with from the hospital. We have ped. interviews this week, so I was going to ask about recommended types of formula, but are there any you all recommend?
Are you going to have a stock of formula/diapers at home for when you get home? What kinds? How much?
I can't believe I have to pack my bag soon!!!!

I have a supply of diapers and wipes at home but I am going to try BFing so I don't have any formula. Although I did get a sample in the mail the other day.

Depends when you are due, but if it is within the next month, then yes I would purchase some formula especially because you don't plan to BF. Just check expiration dates. Also be mindful that your child might not like the formula you chose so don't go overboard and keep receipts in case you need to exchange it.

Re: Buy formula now for when baby arrives?
I would pick up a few things, but keep it small because you never know what will work best for your baby until (s)he comes out. I stocked up on diapers before my DD, and then had to run out and buy a whole bunch of preemie diapers because she came out so unexpectedly small!
Also, I don't know about NY, but in my hospital in PA, they sent me home with a few bottles of formula, which was more than enough to start experimenting.

You should get a bunch from the hospital. My advice as well is to try to find out what kind the hospital uses and by a couple of cans of that. I know LIJ used Similac Advanced Early Shield. I then signed up for the Strong Moms site because they send coupons and Similac is kinda pricey.

Re: Buy formula now for when baby arrives?
I had diapers, A&D ointment and wipes -- I had one package of newborn and the rest size 1. I had to go out and get more newborn size b/c DS was tiny, but we had enough to last a few days at home. I didn't buy any formula because I had heard so many stories about babies not tolerating certain formuals. The hospital sent me home with enough formula for a few days.
The day after we came home my DH went to BRU to get more formula.
