Buying a plane ticket for my DS
We are going to Aruba in March and our son will be a little over a year. Do we have to buy him a seat? I was told not to but then where does he sit? In our laps? That is fine since we are also bringing Grandma but do I need to bring a car seat?

Re: Buying a plane ticket for my DS
We took DS to Aruba last Feb when he was 9 months and going next Feb/March to our time share with IL's this year.
First off... he doesn't need a seat, but you have to let them know and you pay taxes on him. We gate checked the carseat. Since our timeshare is close to everything we really only used it in the taxi to and from the airport (even tho you don't need to have one there it's important for us). Oh, I think one night we went to dinner where we needed a taxi. Every place else we walked to
You need to get him a passport. Love Aruba! Can't wait to go again around the time you're going.

Thanks so much! So I don't NEED to bring the carseat technically? I can travel in a taxi without it? That seems a little Britney Spears-ish to me? HA
I will be ther end of March-at the Surf Club! Maybe I'll see you there...

we'll prob miss each other. We're their the end of Feb to first week in March at the Ocean Club b/c my IL's have a TS there and get one for us every year. Although we do go visit the Surf club pool a lot. Especially the lazy river and slide. We have fam friends that stay there and lend us the bracelets.
You know everything is in walking distance. All the restaurants. When we went Mason was still in his carseat and not the big conv seat so it was easier. Not sure what we'll do next year. Maybe get some kind of a booster or cheaper carseat for the taxi's. We pretty much walked to dinners every night. My IL's took him twice so DH and I went out and they brought in since we stay for a week and they stay for a few weeks
