Buying Shoes from Payless
No, I am not being a snob, but I don't think people realize what a complete waste of money it is. You can buy yourself a nice pair of shoes, for substancially more, but they will last much longer. I have gotten an emergency pair of shoes at payless, and they were the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn, and I ended up throwing them out. I cant see a pair of payless shoes lasting a long time, or being comfy.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I have bought a few pairs there....they last me as long as any other pairs I have bought.
I just bought a great pair of heels that are more comfortable than my $75 pair of leather ones...and these were only $18!!

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I have a pair of black pumps I bought at payless, and they are by far one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I own! They have also lasted me as long as some of my more expensive pairs of shoes.

ditto! I just bought these for an "emergency" interview and OMG! they are SO comfy - and I walked all around the city in them. $15!

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
Honestly, I have bought quite a few pairs there and really, they are some of my most comfortable shoes. And have lasted a really long time - esp given that I really am not really a shoe person, so I tend to wear the same ones all the time.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
Payless reminds me a little of Nine West. They used to be a decent value, but quality has since gone down the tubes.
I usually get my shoes at DSW.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
It's kind of hit or miss for me...just like buying designer shoes that cost a bundle. I've found shoes at payless that are SUPER comfy and hold up a long time.....I've also bought shoes have fallen apart very fast. Same goes for $$$ shoes.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I've always had great luck with Payless... and it's definitely great when you want to get a super trendy pair of shoes but don't want to shell out the cash.
DSW is great too, but even for a shoe gal like me, it's a little overwhelming.

funny because all the shoes i buy from them are very comfy (for me)
and no i will not buy a more expensive shoe because shoes go out of style so fast . and i could prob get about 5 pairs of shoes for what i would pay for one pair somewhere else

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
For me it is hit or miss - on style more than comfort. Any pair I have bought from there have been comfortable. And they lasted longer than some of my more expensive shoes.
Last summer I bought a pair of Franco Sartos from L&T and within days the inside came unglued and was flapping!!! They were $75 sandals.
To each their own I suppose.......

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I have gotten shoes from there. The thing is I usually buy the latest "style" knock off from them because I dont mind spending lss then $20 on a pair of shoesthat will be out of style a year or so later. Even if its a two year fad...I have soooo many pairs of shoes I wear them very little each pair and they can last me two years. Not bad for $20 IMO.
I think if you have a lot of shoes , payless if ifne, the shoes wont fall apart etc cause your not wearing them everyday.
If your someone who only has a few pairs of shoes, its better to spend the $$ on a good pair.,

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I have bought alot of shoes over the years from them and they have lasted and are comfy. I am not the type of girl who owns a gazillion pairs of shoes but I have classic looks from them and so far they have lasted.

Completely agree. I even went in there the other day just to see what they had. And I thought to myself "they look so much better in the commercials."
