Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
It can go both ways, either u like them or u dont...personal opinion.
Yes, I agree u get what you pay for, Most of the time, but that isnt in every case. I have spent $$$ on shoes that were uncomfortable and actually the heel broke. BCBG's too!

i agree. ive bought some expensive sgoes and they have broekn in one day of wear.
i guess it depends on the shoe. althoght the payless shoes that i personally chose were uncomfortable, it doesnt stop me from going back to buy more! for the price, they are a bargain! then i just throw them out when they go out of style

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I agree with previous posters. I'll buy a really trendy shoe there that I know I'll get limited use out of bc they are cheap.
I've bought some shoes there that were comfy, but others that weren't.
I was in there last night and didn't find anything in my size that I liked. They had some cute shoes with wedge heels, but I don't like the plastic wedge. I thought it looked cheap. The shoes I did like there -- some cute suede flats -- weren't available in my size, otherwise I probably would have picked them up.
I find that usually sandals is what I end up getting there...

I've never found anything at Payless that I liked. I've given up on that store.

I have bought a few pairs there....they last me as long as any other pairs I have bought.
I just bought a great pair of heels that are more comfortable than my $75 pair of leather ones...and these were only $18!!
I agree.....I have bought shoes there that have lasted MUCH longer and more comfy. Plus I can buy more

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
The shoes I bought from there are extremely comfortable. I havent shopped there in a while though - I have been on a major Aerosoles kick for a while. Comfy and affordable.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
i went into Payless once to get a pair of "crappy shoes" as i call them, for walking around Vegas..... just a pair of plain flats, sandle-like-ish and i ended up finding these ADORABLE shoes... i mean, HOT, adorable, super cute shoes. (not the flats, these are my leopard slingback high heels with the peep toe and bow)
i bought them both (gotta love their BOGO thing, that only ends up being like $20 anyway lmao) and i must admit they are my fave pair of shoes to this day. they have lasted a decent amoutn of time (since feb) and i get at LEAST 4 compliments on them every tiem i wear them.
other than those though, i dont "do" payless, i just got lucky......
and i admit i AM a payless snob! i WONT carry the bag with their logo!

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I am heavy so I wear shoes hard -- and I have found that the ones from Payless didn't last nearly as long as better shoes that I've gotten from Macy's and stuff like that.
And as far as trendy shoes I always feel like payless shoes are a little "off" from what I am looking for. There is always something little that makes them look a little weird to me and not true to the "trend" that I was looking for.
I used to love Parade of Shoes --- I think they were better. I wish they were still around.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I honestly like Payless.. I have bought shoes in there that were really comfy... I think it depends on what you're looking for.
If I like the shoe, I'll buy it.

DSW is great too, but even for a shoe gal like me, it's a little overwhelming.
Are you kidding me? I hear angels singing "Halleluia!" everytime I walk in there!
You're truly a woman after my own heart!
I was very disappointed & upset with my reaction to DSW, maybe it was because everyone built it up sooo much. There clearance racks though, that's impressive!

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
i have every kind of shoe-I am a shoe fanatic. 9 west, stuart Weitzman(sp?) Franco Sarto, and payless. Payless is hit or miss for me-I rarely go but I just bough 2 pairs of boots there one a high silver boot-they are too big around my ankle so they sag I will prob. only wear them a couple of times. But then I also bought these awesome Airwalk boots for bad leather that I am working! I buy shoes at DSW(although I think they are expensive) TJ Maxx, Marshalls sneakers I usually buy at Kohls or Famous Footwear

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I don't think I've ever bought shoes from payless, but as other posters have mentioned, I LOVE DSW. I think I'm going there today although the one in Carle Place has a much better selection than the one in CT.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I've never stepped foot in a Payless, so I can't really comment on their quality, but I see nothing wrong with getting shoes there if you want to and you find them comfy.
As for myself, I spend very little money on shoes because I have two completely different sized feet and wearing "comfy" shoes is nearly impossible for me. I could never spend more than $50 because I would never get more than a wearing or two out of them. I spend my summer in flip flops and the winter in "less expensive" (notice I didn't call them cheap) shoes.
To each their own. I'm definitnley not a shoe snob. I shop DSW and department stores usually. But I've also gotten shoes at Kohl's and Target.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I bought two pairs last night at payless...and they're super comfortable (compared to the guess and steve madden i tried on) and they were less than $20 each. If I get three/four wears out of them...they've already paid off.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I agree Kristen. I have mostly stopped buying shoes there. I don't think the quality is good, my feet don't breathe in them, and most of the ones I have gotten there have no support.
The one exception is if I am looking for cheap summer flip flops or sandals - those I will still buy there, because I know they will get trashed by the end of the season.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
You know, I always found that Payless had shoes that would fall apart quickly, but I do have a pair (they were bought as emergency shoes). I bought them 3 years ago (the last time I went to PL) and they are still holding up great - I totally forgot they were from PL until this thread!! LOL
Although they DO squeak! I only wear them to work on the days I go to the school that is carpeted!! LOL

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless
I have no issue with Payless shoes. I like that I can buy something that's trendy for a season and then not feel guilty if I only wear them a handful of times.
