Completely agree. I even went in there the other day just to see what they had. And I thought to myself "they look so much better in the commercials."

I agree! I just never can find anything I like there.

I love MJM but I also have found some great designer shoes at Marshall's and TJ Maxx - but that's hit or miss.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless

I have bought quite a few shoes for work there ove rthe past few years. Some have been very uncomfortable, some have been very comfortable.I got a pair last year that I get complimented on every time I wear them. Others, I have worn once and shoved them in the back of my closet. I don't mind doing this because of the price. So I'd have to agree with the people that said hit or missChat Icon

The only thing I dont like about Payless shoes is that it makes your feet STINK!
My feet do not stink with any other shoe. LOL Is it the Fleather?

As for the comfort, I have bought very expensive shoes that were not comfortable at all.

I like payless for their colored shoes.

I have bought a few pairs there....they last me as long as any other pairs I have bought.

I just bought a great pair of heels that are more comfortable than my $75 pair of leather ones...and these were only $18!!

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

ditto! I just bought these for an "emergency" interview and OMG! they are SO comfy - and I walked all around the city in them. $15!

I have those I too bought them for the interview- they are quite comfy for 18$

Anything i've ever gotten there has been very UNcomfortable, however, I will still look there every once in a while.

I just can't get myself to buy from payless. They just look cheaper to me. I would rather spend money on a better looking and quality shoe then get a bunch of cheapies.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless

some people can't afford the high end shoes so payless works for them.

i even bought a pair of nine west shoes, and they weren't comfortable. but i did buy other nine west shoes.

This isnt about "high end shoes", it's about the quality of the shoe. They dont call is Payless for nothing.

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless

I don't mind buying at Payless..like some others said..sometimes I like a shoe enough for just the season or trend..so even if I get two or three wear's out of them..I don't mind. I would rather not spend a lot of $$ on the real thing/more expensive version when I know I probably won't wear them often.

No, I am not being a snob, but I don't think people realize what a complete waste of money it is. You can buy yourself a nice pair of shoes, for substancially more, but they will last much longer. I have gotten an emergency pair of shoes at payless, and they were the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn, and I ended up throwing them out. I cant see a pair of payless shoes lasting a long time, or being comfy.

i agree!

that is one think my mother told never buy cheap shoes... when your feet hurt EVERYTHING HURTS!

DSW is great too, but even for a shoe gal like me, it's a little overwhelming. Chat Icon

Re: Buying Shoes from Payless

I have bought shoes from Payless that started out as emergency and ended up being so comfy and lasted a long time.

I have spent money on Steve Madden shoes and had them kill my feet to the point of not being able to wear them or have had them fall apart quickly.

If I like the shoes, I will buy them regardless of where they come from.

I 100% agree with it being hit or miss. I'm a DSW girl at heart but will look/buy from Payless if I see something I really like.

I don't get the point of all this.

if I bought a crappy pair of shoes, I might post about how I hate the shoes, but why trash a whole store and every single item they have ever carried? that's generalizing. Chat Icon

I dont either....Chat Icon

I have had $15 pair of shoes that have lasted longer than a $75 pair.

Who cares where you got them or how much they cost...as long as you like them.

i buy shoes from there all the time
and to me they are very comfy and i love them . but some people are saying that they could never see themselves buying shoes from there.. JMO i wont spend a lot of money on shoes for them to go out of style so fast and not even that but to me the more expensive they are the more uncomfortable they are

I bought a pair of Via Spiga shoes at Century 21 a few yrs ago. originally $200 and I got them for $75 - no bargain IMO. $75 is a lot to spend on 1 pair, but I loved them. I wore them ONCE! they gave me the worst blisters I have ever gotten from any shoe. They're still in my closet collecting dust.
