C-section mommies - TMI

How long after your c-section did you continue to bleed if you were BF? Was it pink or brown?

Re: C-section mommies - TMI

I stopped bleeding the day I left the hospital-- so I bleed for about 4 days. Then I bleed again two wks later for 5 days. (I think I was trying to do too much.) Nothing since then.

I pumped exclusively and sometimes when I pumped I would bleed kind of heavy.

I swear it was like five or six weeks. It was forever.

I told my friend that who just had a c-section, to prepare her. She a day or two after she got home!

You never know!

Re: C-section mommies - TMI

I went from bleeding to just having a brownish discharge. Now at 6 weeks, I've got nothing.

SO weird, I was *just* thinking to ask this question! Not that this helps you, but I am 2 weeks along and still bleeding - not heavy, but definitely need to wear a regular pad. Who knows when it'll stop!

6 weeks for me. It was only heavy in the hospital, and was less than what I would bleed during a period for the rest of the time. It was brownish and almost non existent, like spotting for the last week.

3 weeks today and it's now very light. Sometimes I can go hours without anything.

Okay I feel better I was just a little worried that I am 3 weeks and 3 days and I am still bleeding rather heavy frequently - and it goes from brown to pink and red again. But it sounds like there are others out there who have had a similar issue so I won't worry about it for a few more weeks.

Re: C-section mommies - TMI

I think anything up to 6 wks pp is pretty common. As long as it's not a HUGE gush all the time, or uncontrollable, it's fine. It'll taper off, eventually!

No c-section...but with my first, bled super heavy at first (2 weeks) it soon dwindled to an average period like flow for 3 weeks and led right into my first AF during the 6th week. It alternated after the first 2 weeks from brown to red to pink and back again.Chat Icon This time around, it all stopped at 3 weeks!Chat Icon I was happy b/c then I could go swimming!!!
