Re: Cablevision or Verizon Fios?

Cablevision they are coming out with a new multi room DVR which I'm excited about plus the new Samsung boxes are great!
We have the Samsung boxes and I think they are so much worse! Much slower response time and a bunch of other little things. I wish FIOS was in our area. We'd switch in a heartbeat.

Re: Cablevision or Verizon Fios?
Fios
Both have "issues". We had some biling issues at the beginning with Fios. We ALWAYS issues with CV.
Overall, FIOS wins.
Fios: Pros: better picture, faster menu (no need to wait 10+ seconds for the menu guide to show up or to switch channel), some channels that are not available on CV, no issue with lost services that was a constant issue with CV, fast internet, cheaper than CV even AFTER all taxes.
Cons: Some biling issues at the beginning. No channel 12 (but they have now a channel 1 for local news), so MSG games

Re: Cablevision or Verizon Fios?
FIOS!!!!!
We had both at one time and we have a tv in our basement and our den.... we had cablevision on one TV and FIOS on the other and the difference was AMAZING! FIOS is soooo much clearer and the guide feature is amazing compared to cablevision.
The only thing Cablevision has is MSG in HD and FIOS does not and DH and I are HUGE NY Rangers fans.... so for us to turn down MSG in HD is a huge deal!

Re: Cablevision or Verizon Fios?
Fios definitely. We had cablevision for years. Then when we moved we decided to try out FIOS b.c they gave us a good deal.
I would have a very hard time going back. We occasionally toy with the idea b.c we get good deals - but we haven't been able to bring ourselves to change b.c the service is so much better.
We did have billing issues for the first few months and it was annoying- but have since had no issues.
The picture looks clearer, no lag when you switch channels (except if you go from HD to non HD - but not between the HD and HD and the non HD and the non HD channels). They have a number of channels that cablevision didn't have or you didn't get. They have a lot more free on demand. My internet is also faster than before.

Re: Cablevision or Verizon Fios?
Fios.
Cable can suck it. They kept screwing around with my favorite networks. That's when we switched. Exactly one year ago in January. Very very happy with Verizon!
