Calling all moms of girls who have accomplished potty training...
Can you spell out for me how it worked? I know the general suggestions of charts, rewards, etc but how did the process actually unfold for you? We started day one today, and after peeing on the potty twice this morning, we had three accidents in a row (under a half hour from the previous time she peed...) I need to hear from some people who have done this so that I can have realistic expectations for how it should progress, and so I know if we should just stop and try again later.....

Okay.
We started about 3 weeks ago. In my opinion she is 100% trained now. Naps, nighttime, car trips everything.
The first 3 days were H-E-L-L!!! She had more accidents then sucesses. I was constantly scrubbing my floor, cleaning her clothes, etc.
Once we got rid of the pullups/diapers, we didn't go back. She needed to learn that we weren't going to go back to them, I felt they were such a crutch.
So this is what we did. I made a chart on construction paper that just said Emily's Potty CHart and I drew a pic of a toilet on it. I told her every time she peed she could pick out a sticker.
We got M&Ms. Every time she went on the potty she also got about 4-5 m&ms in a cup.
We got the training undies from BRU, even though she's never had an accident in the car, I feel it gave me piece of mind that if she did, it would absorb some. It doesnt absorb all.
I also let her pick out her stickers and let her pick out her potty seat. She had no desire to go and after doing this she was excited to go.
Her sticker chart is also down low so she adds the stickers to it also. She also liked helping to flush her pee. We kept the potty in the living room so that she didn't need to leave her toys too long to do it. She'd never go all the way into the bathroom in the middle of playing, and sometimes wouldn't be able to make it that far anyway.
We also got the "Potette" from BRU --- it is a fold-up, portable potty. We use it in the trunk of the car (SUV) and when we are out on the go. She has used it in parking lots, behind things at carnivals, in the backyard of a BBQ we went to where they got portapotties for adults and there was no way she was using one, etc. It also can be used on top of a grown up toilet so we do that when we go to restaurants and stuff.
