Calling All outdoor gazebo /canopy owners
how do they hold up? do they fade? where did you get yours from and would you recommend yours?
ETA - do you leave your outdoor furniture under it UNcovered in rainy weather?

Re: Calling All outdoor gazebo /canopy owners
We had one we got at Kohls. It lasted 3 years. We would leave the frame up and take down the canopy during the winter. We left our patios furniture up under it in the summer and the the furniture gets stored int he shed in the winter. After 3 years of only having the canopy up in the summer, it was faded and had small holes. The frame was completely rusted. We just threw it out in Oct. This year we're gonna get a big umbrella and not deal with the gazebo again--it wasn't really any better than having an umbrella. With a table that seats 6, we would still get wet when it rained and it didn't block the sun for everyone 75% of the time--only when it was high noon was everyone in the shade.

Re: Calling All outdoor gazebo /canopy owners
we had a gazebo from target for 2 years.. then it got rusted.. and the canopy just faded and got all cruddy.. the way it was made was bad too.. cause when it rained the water would just sit on the top and then it sunk..
we probably wont buy another one.. although i do like the purpose of it..

Re: Calling All outdoor gazebo /canopy owners
We bought ours at Sears in the summer of 04'. We would normally take it down around October and pack it in the shed. Even doing that it faded and the mesh began to rip. We were going to try to get 1 more year out of it, but one strong wind storm last year picked it up and it crashed into the house and broke. Now we're in the market for a new one also.

Re: Calling All outdoor gazebo /canopy owners
We JUST bought one on Sunday...and had about 5 family members come over to assemble it.
The thing is huge and EXTREMELY heavy.
We bought it in Target. This is the one we bought.
My plan is to take the canopy and the mesh sides off and store them in the garage for the winter.
But right now, because it is brand new, the canopy is pulled sooooo taught, I can't see how we will remove it. Maybe it will loosen up by the end of the summer.
There is NO way we are taking down the whole gazebo. It was a B!TCH to put together!!!!

Re: Calling All outdoor gazebo /canopy owners
We bought one at Sears and it lasted about 2 years. It actually blew over in a bad wind storm while we were out of town and got bent, which kind of ruined it. My DH's cousin got a great one at BJ's with heavy duty corner posts and they bolted it down to their deck, and it's still like new. They take the canopy off during the winter & it's fine. If you see any rust you can touch it up with rustoleum paint and it that should help.

Re: Calling All outdoor gazebo /canopy owners
We bought ours last year from Big Lots. We weren't looking to spend too much and it was only $200. It last us last year pretty well. We took down the canvas and netting over the winter and the frame is bolted into our patio. Hopefully we will get a couple of years out of it.
