Jodi - I'm in the same boat as you. My youngest is 34" and 33 lbs. The ped told me to start noticing what we were feeding b/c he was borderline obese I almost fell to the floor there.
All he wants is food...I actually gave back the pacifier in hopes that would cut back on his eating!
As for disorders, I'm not sure, but my nephew was very overweight and would eat until he vomitted. He has since grown mostly out of it...so maybe the wait, monitor and see method is OK?
ETA: It is different than a skinny kid who eats all the time...I have one of those too.
