Can anyone offer advice/insight?
Ok, so I am married and my husband has two kids from his first marraige. they are in their teens. We recently found out that I am pregnant and don't know how to tell them (we doubt they'll take it well). Has anyone been in this situation? Any suggestions?

Visitation 4 days a week, but they're older now so they kinda come and go when they want (we live close)

If you think they will be happy about it, then maybe plan a cute surprise but if you think they will take it hard, then just sit down & have a straightforward talk.

Re: Can anyone offer advice/insight?
I was in this situation but I was the teenager from the previous marriage..We only saw our Dad on Sundays..we were very happy for them & very excited to have a baby around!!
The only thing I would say is try & include them (if they are interested at all) When my stepmom had my bro they didn't even call us to let us know. We found out because one of my Aunts (from my moms side) happened to be at the hospital & see them. My dads reasoning was that he saw us on Sundays so he was waiting until he saw us to let us know Anyway Sorry so long. Hope all goes well..Good LUCK!!!!

My stepdaughters were 9 and 15 when we told them... we just sat them down and said we had some news for them, then DH paused and said... "Liza's pregnant!"
They were very happy!

Re: Can anyone offer advice/insight?
My stepdaughters were 3 & 8. It wasnt really a shock to them (or my girls) b/c we had told them previously that we were "thinking" about how nice it would be to have a baby....we waited until after the 1st trimester and then sat them down and showed them the sonogram pic from the Ultrascreen. During the pregnancy we tried to include everyone as much as possible. Probably the best advice I can give is to allow room for fluctuating feelings regarding the new baby. We had some issues with the older of the 2 not coming with us to an ultrasound (which was fine that she didnt want to go) but it was not fine that she tried to make us feel guilty afterwards that we all went without her. YES we did go without you...there were a few things like this. Just try and relax and enjoy your pregnancy and concentrate and that beautiful baby....
FM me any time.
