Can anyone tell me what their child acts like when they are sick
DS is 15 months old. Right now he has 102.5 temp. He is whiny and a little less active than he normally is, but definitely not lethargic. He is just more apt to want to sit on our lap (shich rarely happens when he is well) He did eat his entire dinner. About an hour after I gave him Mortrin, he is acting almost completely normal.
How does your child act when they are sick? IS what I am describing pretty typical for a sick child? Obviously I am fairly new to this whole sick thing, and just always think of how I am when I am sick.....dead to the world.
Also, is it commom for a child to just spike a temp, and nothing else really be wrong?

My son would get clingy and cry/whine. The motrin would help him get back to normal. He could be getting sick, cutting teeth or maybe just has a fever virus?

DS gets clingy, whiny, and won't leave my lap. He wont go in his crib, just wants to cuddle with mommy or daddy. When I see this happen (along with even a slight fever), I know to have him checked for an ear infection. 2 out of 3 times this happened, turned out he had and ear infection

Re: Can anyone tell me what their child acts like when they are sick
Honestly it depends on what DD has had. She had 104 and roseola once and was running around her playroom bouncing and laughing like she was perfectly healthy - she just slept a little longer than normal.
Then she had the stomach bug and coxsackies (not at the same time) and both times she was playing some on and off - but the majority of the time she just wanted to cuddle with me - she is NEVER snuggly unless she is falling asleep normally. That was harder than the roseola b.c she just looked so sad and sick. With the coxsackie though she would play not long after the motrin until about 2-3 hours in then she would act sick again -so I definitely think the motrin helped.

For the most part she acts normal. A little more clingy and she lays down a bit more, but mostly normal. She is sick right now and has been running a fever of 102. She's playing, eating and drinking. The tylenol helps and when it is working you can't even tell she's sick.
The only time she acted "sick" was when her fever was 104. She just stared so we knew it was something bad.
