Can morning/ day sickness....
get worse after 9 weeks? I was nauseous up until week 8 then it stopped and I got really sick (virus bronchitus) and since I started feeling better I am throwing up and nausious all day long and im 9w3d. I'm just curious if it got this bad for anyone else this late in the 1st trimester? I called the Dr to see if it could be after effects of taking antibiotics? Havent heard back yet?
Any suggestions how to deal with the nausia at work?

Re: Can morning/ day sickness....
Yup, mine got worse around then. Coke, Ginger Ale, Preggie pops, ginger snaps, pretzels all sort of helped. So did salt bagels.
Sorry you feel crummy

Thanks...
Where did you get the Preggie Pops I keep hearing about?
I think a salt bagel would help i just hate that carbs are the only things i can eat these last 3 days...

Re: Can morning/ day sickness....
yep, mine got worse around 12wks. Still going strong at 20.
Nothing CURED it at all - but these things helped:
-Zofran (rx anti-nausea pills) I was taking 4 a day for a couple months, now I'm down to 1 a day (only in the morning)
-Warm ginger ale
-Pretzels
-oyster crackers (little tiny soup crackers)
-citrus: i kept a lemon or a lime on my desk every day and would cut a slice off and put it in my water. If my nausea got really bad, I would just sniff the lemon/lime/whatever.
-Increased vitamin B. I take a dissolving oral tablet that also has folic acid in it
-cool, damp paper towels on my face
-naps
-Sea Bands (motion sickness bands - you can get them at CVS/walgreens/etc, near the dramamine). I kept mine on 24/7 - only took them off to shower.
-bagels, but only sometimes. Sometimes they just made me puke more OR felt like a brick in my stomach. I don't know which is worse.
NOTHING dairy or acidic (coffee, sauce, etc) - that made things so much worse.
Oh, and Preggie pops are a joke. They're just hard candy.
I think that's about it - seriously, nothing works. I feel your pain...FEEL BETTER!!!!!
eta: At the worst point, I was vomiting 12-15 times a day. I'm down to 2-3 now --- so it DOES get a little better!

I got preggie pops (sucking candy) at Motherhood Maternity. I think BBB & BRU also carry them

Re: Can morning/ day sickness....
11 weeks. threw up twice this morning.
having a REALLY bad day with it today.
it's been really bad this whole week actually.
I am trying to tell myself it's the hormones making the big push towards the 2nd trimester....and that accounts for the spike in nausea.
I think you will find different things work for different people.
I can't eat hot food. I eat sandwiches, yogurt...or whatever else I think will stay.
it's a game of hit and misses I think. I just run a bunch of possible food scenarios in my head and whichever makes me LEAST vomit inclined is what I eat (normally cheese sandwiches)
I will say that my acid reflux is much better since Mon/Tues b/c I upped my dairy intake (2 yogurts, and I am drinking milk)
like they say, whatever it takes to get you through
