Can pregnancy cause new food allergies?
I have eaten cherries before I was pregnant. I used to sit with my mom and eat them by the bowl full while we talked. Today, I had cherries for the first time since being pregnant and my lips got puffy and my throat started to swell a little. Could this be the result of my pregnancy?

I think so. The other day I decided to exfoliate my face w/ cleanser I had pre-pregnancy, and I broke out into a rash all over.

It could but that is the same reaction I get when I eat certain fruits. I think its the pesticides in them. You can buy an all natural fruit/veggie wash to clean your fruits and veggies. I buy ist at Stop and Shop

I dont know about food specifically but during my first pregnancy MIL washed a bunch of stuff for us when we were moving, she used TIDE (which i've used before) and I broke out in hives for DAYS before we realized what it was!

i definitely think it's possible.
i was diagnosed with adult onset asthma 10 years ago and in the 7 years (almost 8 now) that i've been with Dave - i've used an inhaler ONE TIME.
since giving birth - i'm on more meds for asthma than i know that do with....and i'm seeing specialists every week. SOMETHING happened either after the birth or as a result of the birth and the meds they gaev me to bring it on....
so my theory is 100% yes - allergies could happen....as could ANYTHING!!

definitely......I cant have red pepper anymore and it was NEVER an issue. My best friend, who was never allergic to anything had the same thing happen with certain foods and detergents.

It could be....although my son's allergist did say that an allergy to something could happen all of a sudden, even after years of eating the same thing. Maybe like a pp said it was something on the fruit that was not washed off enough?
