Can someone explain to me how Pinterest works?

I'm sure it's been asked a thousand times before. Is it like FB? I tried to sign up but guess I have to be "invited".

How much time do you spend on creating the pinboards? Not sure if I can dedicate a lot of time to this but I am obssessed with the Architecture section, DIY and gardening.

I was just playing around on it the other night and created like 5 boards for myself in an hour or so (I was going slow & being relaxed)

Girly stuff
Home

Once you see something you like, just click "pin it" and put it on one of your boards. They have pre-set ones or just create a new title for one.

It's easy!

In addition to the above, you can follow people that you may have the same joy as achriecture with so that way, you can see even more stuff that you want.

You can sort by groups (art, science, etc..) I typically just do popular.

You can like like stuff which you can see later but a PIN will actually put in on your board. You can comment like Facebook for people to see but its mostly for pinning.

People will follow you cause of facebook friends (if linked)

You can name a board anything you want..its really simple when you think about it and use it.

Where are the pictures stored? Are they linked externally? what happens if the picture is removed? If I have a photo I like can I upload it?
