Can we have a newborn check-in?
Hi all...just wondering what all the REALLY little ones are up to...
Patrick is 7 weeks today.
He had an appt. this morning and weighs 11lbs 14oz and is 22 1/4 inches.
He is almost entirely BF, but gets one bottle of formula per day. He eats about 8 times a day. I sense a change coming with the overnight feedings...fingers crossed! Last night he went from 11:30p to 4:30a. I'd rather him have his last feeding earlier, but what can you do?
He's really only started staying up during the day the past week or so, but we have no semblance of a nap schedule as of yet.
Otherwise, he is a super baby; very peaceful and easy to tote along places and considering he makes #3 for us, that is a VERRRRRY good thing!
So...how are YOUR little ones doing with all of that?

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
DS is almost 11 weeks... just started him on a fairly okay nap schedule.... JUST started sleeping longer streches at night (still have one feeding around 3-4am) and just got his first round of shots yesterday!
oh and he also learned how to roll from stomach to back around 8 weeks -- which has made tummy time impossible since all he does is roll lol

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
Talia is 5 1/2 weeks old and weighs 10lbs 5 oz and measuring 22 3/4.
she is exclusively bf but has had a bottle of formula here and there when mommy needed some wine.
for the most part, she is a great baby but we still have rare days of crying fits for a couple of hours. i think its gas.
she is a pretty good night sleeper. she sleeps for about 6 hours straight, wakes up for a feeding and goes down again for about 3 hours.
heres a pic of her newborn shoot with michelle mcfadden. she cried 80% of the time! lol

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
DS is 10 weeks and doing great As of 2 weeks ago, he was 12lbs, 10oz and 23 1/2 in. His 3 month well visit is next week
The first month was ROUGH!!! After switching formula a good 5X he is finally on one that works, Enfamil Nutramigen and he is also on Prevacid for his acid reflux. Since all of this, he is now a happy, smiling, baby boy!!!
Sleeping from 9pm - 8am every night (This really just happened, he was getting up at 4am for a feeding, but just recently dropped it )
We started him on Rice Cereal in his bottles with advice from the Ped and he loves it. Was only taking 4oz at a time and is now sucking down 6-7oz bottles.
He is still sleeping in his swing, but we are going to start the transition to the crib this weekend. Wish us luck!

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
Not sure if we still qualify DD is 13 weeks today.
She's sleeping 8-7:30 then goes back down until 9:30. She eats about 25-30 oz a day <mostly pumped BM with a little formula throw in>
She's a crazy cat napper.. stays up 1.5-2hrs, naps for 30 minutes, repeat...
She's started to get so big and so strong, she sits up now with the support of the boppy and will only play that way... as if she thinks she's too good to be playing lying on her back

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
Trevor is 7 weeks old. 8 pounds 13 ounces. 21 and 3/4 inches long He's on formula (enfamil gentlease). Drinking 3 to 4 ounces every two to three hours. He's starting to try to communicate with noises other than crying. He's just starting to sleep through the night. He seems to have his days where all he does is cry and days when he is a perfect little angel. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
Lila is two weeks today! I can't believe how much she's grown and changed already. I love her to pieces.
At her doc's appt last night, she's gained a pound, is up past her birth weight, and looks perfect. And it's all from breast milk! (Go me!) She's a champion eater - she's eating every 2-3 hours like clockwork. She sleeps well, most of the time, between feedings.
No nap schedule of any kind yet, but she's awake and alert for a few hours each day. Poor little thing was cranky today. (My bad - I didn't realize that chili was a bad dinner choice for a nursing mama). She kind of likes the swing, and might attempt the bouncer today. We dance a lot. (She's a big DMB fan! It's hilarious, but when she cries, the music calms her down!)
I love hanging out with my little sweetheart. I hate putting her down. Now if I could just figure out a way for my house to clean itself, we'd be set.

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
DD will be 6 weeks on Thursday!
Last week at the doctor she was 22 3/4 inches and 9 lbs 15 oz! Only on BM for now, will probably start to introduce formula soon since I am going back to work the end of January
She was going down around 8 ish and sleeping till 1-2 up at 5 for another feeding then down again till 8-9. But last night she woke up at 4:15 and then slept again till 8. I just told DH that when we have LO #2 and I want to quit mommyhood the first early weeks (kidding of course) to remind me that it does get easier
I love love love loveeee her so much and she is starting to smile socially and laugh/coo and I just want to eat her up

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
Liam will be 6 weeks tomorrow. He is eating anywhere from 4-5 ounces every 3 hours. I think I need to go up to 6 bc he's downing some of the bottles. I got excited because he slept for 7 hours straight on Saturday and Sunday night. But I think it was a fluke, bc last night he was up every 4. He's a really good baby. I can't complain, which is a good thing, because he's #3, so if he was a handful, it would be really hard! I can't believe it's going so fast, though. I'm halfway through my maternity leave.

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
omg i am so jealous of all of these sleeping babies!
My twins are 7 weeks yesterday and eat between 4-5 ounces every three hours. I pumped for a month, and now they are on Enfamil Newborn. they are also very gassy so they have bouts of crying throughout the day.
they get up literally every 2.5-3 hours over night and the 3:30am feeding they rarely go right back to sleep - they kindof fuss until around 5am1
i am DYING for them to STTN soon - hopefully they start to enjoy sleeping more!
they are fantastic babies though and are starting to smile and interact with us more and more each day!

My lil' man is 1 wee old today, so I'm not sure if I qualify for this post yet...lol
All he does is SLEEP, which is not such a bad thing since I do have a 20 month old under my feet all day...lol. But according to the ped. I have to wake him up every three hours to feed him...which I am exclusively BF and it's not easy!

Re: Can we have a newborn check-in?
DS was 8 weeks on Monday.
He has gotten so big! He was 7;13 at birth, then 10;13 at his month visit, plus he grew an inch and a half. Monday is our next visit - can't wait to see how much he has grown.
He eats about 4 oz. every 2-3 hours, sometimes snacks in between.
STTN seemed to be in our near future at around 6 weeks, but his sleeping has been pretty erratic since then. He just wakes up now and stays up a while. I try to get him to stay until 5AM, but that doesn't always happen. He dropped his 12 AM feeding fairly quickly but since then its been a struggle. I go back to work in about 2 weeks so it would be great for him to start STTN by then!!!!!!
He is full of smiles and laughs these days. It's the best thing in the world!
I am getting nervous and upset about having to go back to work. It is gonna suck and I just can't imagine leaving him. I finally got used to staying home!!
Great to see/hear from you ladies that I was over on the pregnancy board with - it's always hard to transition to a new board!!!! I am so out of the loop on the parenting board and am full of questions with no answers for anyone!!!

My DS did the same thing. Waking him was impossible! We were constantly stripping his clothes, wiping him down with a washcloth - it was crazy!
