Can we talk accent walls - post pics if you have them

I know what they are but I am trying to determine WHICH wall in my bedroom should be the accent wall, dh is going to be repainting and rearranging ou bedroom

Which is your accent wall?

my bedroom, when you walk in on the left is going to be the long dresser with the mounted TV above it, next to that is the bathroom. On the right wall, that is where our bed will be....then there is an empty wall (the one that you look at when entering the room) and the other wall is taken up by closets

We were thinking of making the accent wall the one with the dresser and mounted TV

any ideas?

Can you move the bed to the empty wall and accent that? I like that look. I like when the accent wall is the focal point of the room. KWIM

had to reread it, I would do the bed side then. If Im understanding you see the bed as soon as you come in the room right?

I don't have an accent wall, so no help there.

But, I would probably make the accent wall either the wall you see when you walk in, and put some great shelving, decorative accents up. Or, the wall behind your TV/Dresser area.

i only have two currently (was going to do the living room and dining room to have one each but figured i an do it another time)

For the front bedroom its the wall you see first when you look into the room from the main entry. I plan on putting pictures and shelves there. *basically where i want your eye to go

For the entry its the first wall you walk in and see (so again where you want your eye to go)

this is a great idea, I will speak to DH...it will either be that wall or the wall to the left, when you walk in

BUT, if we put it on the TV wall, doesn't that defeat the purpose of the accent wall, aren't you supposed to see it upon entering the room?

We just recently painted an accent wall in our bedroom. We made it the wall with the bed on it, because we have a cathedral ceiling and that is the tall wall. It is not the wall you see when you walk in the room. I love the way it looks. My dh wasn't sure about it when he was painting, but he really likes it now. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures. I think it will look great, whichever wall you choose. Good luck!

I have a chocolate brown accent wall with beige walls in my bedroom. I will post pics when I get home.

Whenever I walk into a bedroom my eye is immediately drawn to the bed regardless of where it is placed - to the right, left, center, whathaveyou.

So I would paint the wall that the bed is on the accent color.

dh is actually thinking of painting BOTH the wall behind the bed and the wall with the dresser the darker color

we'll see how this turns out

I sort of went accent wall crazy when we painted our house and I'm sort of regretting it now...

In our bedroom, our accent wall is the wall that our headboard lies on. It is chocolate brown and the other walls are a deep blue. Our comforter is blue and brown.

In our living room/dining room, our accent wall is the main wall that our TV is mounted on.. right above our fireplace. The accent wall is a taupe/caramelly/brown color and the other walls are creame/off white.

The accent wall that I absolutely LOVE in our house, is the wall running up our staircase. It is a burnt orange and I have really nice artwork going up the stairs. The surrounding walls are a creme/off white.
