Can you recommend your convertible car seat?
DS is outgrowing his infant car seat. We are looking to buy a convertible car seat. I just want the most comfortable and safest one possible. I don't care how it looks.
Can you recommend your convertible car seat?
The Britax Roundabout and Boulevard seem to have very high ratings. What's the difference between them?

Britax Marathon. I believe Britax is the supposed to be the "best and safest" brand out there. You should ask the Carseat guy on this website though - I'm sure he could point you in the right direction.

I just bumped a post where he responded - you can shoot him an FM.
Also do a search under his name, I do believe he's answered this question before!

Re: Can you recommend your convertible car seat?
We have Britax Marathon. Both are excellent high rated. The only difference is Marathon allows 49 inches and 65 pounds whereas Roundabout allows 40 inches and 40 pounds...

We have a Britax Advocate CS. I love it for Abby and I feel she is very safe in it. It is HUGE though.

Re: Can you recommend your convertible car seat?
I guess the Marathon would be better than the Roundabout since it can last until the child is 65 pounds. If I remember correctly, I think I weighed 65 pounds in 7th grade!
How about the Marathon compared to the Boulevard?
The Boulevard goes up to 65 pounds as well.

I just looked and the advocate appears to be the most expensive of the britax car seats. it is just aesthetically different or is there a reason why it costs more?
I don't mind so much that a car seat is large because we plan to keep the car seat in the car. I just want DS to be as safe and comfortable as possible.

I have a Britax Marathon in Cowmooflage. It is one of the safest seats out there and can hold DD until she is 49" and 65 pounds.
DH has the Britax Marathon in Tan Swirl in his car.

Re: Can you recommend your convertible car seat?
Does anyone have an Evenflo car seat? They got better ratings than Britax on consumer reports. They also cost about half price.

Yes, it is the most expensive. It also has a different/additional side-impact protection that the others do not have. We used hoarded gift cards to get it so we did not really have to dip into our pockets to pay for it. We know that Abby will be using it for a long time since she is so small and doesn't gain weight very quickly. Abby looks like she is sitting in a Cadillac. It swallows her up.

I just bought an Evenflo Triumph Advance LX. Great price and I used a coupon at BRU. I can't afford a Britax and I thought this was just as good.

I was looking at this in BBB this weekend because we needed to get my Mom a carseat. The saleslady helping us said that the red part of the straps irritate some kids necks (they were experiencing a lot of returns). DS has eczema and sensitive skin, so we opted not to go with this one, but other than that - it looked great!
We have: a Britax Marathon, a Britax Boulevard and for my Mom's car we ended up with the Graco Comfortsport.
HTH!

Thanks for the tip! I was all set to go buy the Evenflo.
DS has been battling eczema. It's finally under control. I'd hate for his skin to get irritated again.
I guess I'm back to the Britax Marathon again.

You might be able to put those things that cover the carseat straps around that part, but they could still slide down... I don't know. I felt it and the material felt very hard / sharp to me. I don't know why they would put that so close to a child's neck.

Re: Can you recommend your convertible car seat?
The best seat is one that fits your car, you can afford and use correctly ecery time. FM me with exact details and I can help you better.
As far as the Evenflo, It is a great seat but does not work well in every car rear facing.
