Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
Beef stroganoff:
1 1/2 to 2 lbs round steak (I buy the eye round roast) 1/2 tsp salt 1/8 tsp pepper 1 onion, sliced 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1 Tbs worcestershire 1/2 tsp paprika 1 can beef broth 1 Tbs ketchup 2 Tbs red wine 1/4 lb sliced mushrooms 3 Tbs cornstarch 1/4 c water 1 cup sour cream
cut steak into 1/4 inch strips. Season with salt, pepper. (I use more than the recipe calls for) Place steak & onion in slow cooker. Mix garlic, worcestershire sauce, paprika, broth and ketchup in a bowl. Pour mixture over steak. Cover & cook on LOW 6 to 7 hours or until steak is tender. Turn control to HIGH. Add wine & mushrooms. Dissolve cornstarch in water in a small bowl. Add to meat mixture, stirring until blended. Cover and cook on HIGH 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. Stir in sour cream, turn off heat. Serve over rice or noodles.
I can not tell you how good this is. It's famous among the neighborhood kids as "_________ mom's steak and gravy thing." You gotta try it!

Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
i only made this once the other day...i didn't eat it but my dh enjoyed it! pork chops, sourkraut, brown sugar place the sourkraut in the bottom (pour 1/2 the can in including the juice--i used a large can b/c that's all i could find in the store!!), place the pork chops on top, add the rest of the sourkraut on top with 1/2 cup brown sugar...mix the top sourkraut w/the br.sugar....we cooked it on high for 2 hours and then low for 3 more hours....it was really simple!!!!!!!
my dh also makes stew...he dumps forzen veggies in, one package of cut up beef, enough water to cover the ingredients, potatoes, and a beef stew flavoring packet or marinade

Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
we do pot roast a lot- just add in some baby carrots, an onion, some cut up potatoes and a little beef broth
i also make chicken "cacciatore"... i use boneless chicken breasts, a bell pepper, an onion, a cubanelle pepper ( slightly spicy) and a can of crushed tomatoes. let it cook all day.. the chicken breaks up so it becomes more like a stew. serve it all over rice or pasta
theres also a recipe for chicken chili that i posted on here a couple times... i got it from a friend, so i don't know the recipe off hand... but if you do a search it should come up.

Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
I often just do a quick brisket...chop carrot, onion, celery into chunks, place in crock pot, put brisket in (no browning) and just pour some bbq sauce over it. Leave it for however long. Always a big hit.
Also, sometimes I get a big shoulder of lamb, put in some red lentils, a tin of tomatoes, some worcestershire sauce (or whatever flavours you like) and leave for like 8 hours. Delish.

Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
Got this out of an old slow cooker magazine......
Coq au Vin makes 6 servings
4 slices thick cut bacon 2 cups frozen pearl onions thawed (I use the jarred onions, not frozen) 1 cup sliced button mushrooms (I use whatever mushrooms are on sale that week, including portobello) 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tspn dried thyme 1/8 tspn black pepper 6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves about 2 pounds (I use thighs with the bones) 1/2 cup dry red wine 3/4 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth 1/4 cup tomato paste 3 tbls flour
Cook bacon until crisp, drain and crumble. Layber ingredients in following order into slow cooker: onions, bacon, mushrooms, garlic, thyme, pepper, chicken, wine and broth. Cover and cook on LOW 6-8 hours.
Remove chicken and vegetables, cover and keep warm. Ladle 1/2 cup cooking liquid into small bowl; allow to cool slightly. Turn slow cooker to HIGH, cover. Mix reserved liquid, tomato paste and flour until smooth. Return flour/paste mixture to slow cooker; cover and cook 15 minutes or until thickened. Serve over egg noodles.

Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
this one is really easy:
Poke some forkholes in sausage, I use about 6 links, and boil in a pot of water for 20 minutes. Drain, slice up the sausage and put in the crockpot. Pour 2 cans of sauce over the sausage. Set the crockpot on low for 6-8 hours. When you get home all you have to do is boil the pasta.

I just cut it long ways down the middle. Then cut it into slices. So you actually end up with 1/2 a slice. If they are still too big I'll cut them again. Enjoy it!

Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
Get country style ribs 2 bottle of your fav bbq sauce i use bullseye sweet and sticky rib sauce 1 large onion
Slice onion into rings and layered bottom of the crockpot with it pour some bbq sauce on the onion then put in some ribs pour sauce then put more ribs then more sauce. Repeat until done
I make sure the ribs are completely covered in sauce
Cook on low for 8 hour or med for 6-7hr
The bbq sauce will thin out. and leave your ribs so pull apartable if that is a word
I make garlic mashed potatoes on the side and a cornbread (jiffy in the box)

Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
Cranberry pot roast
I also add cut up red potatoes and whole baby carrots to the crock pot after an hour or so!
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix 1 (3 pound) beef chuck roast 1 (16 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce 2 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
..DIRECTIONS 1.Place onion soup mix in the bottom of a slow cooker. Place roast in the slow cooker, and top with cranberry sauce. 2.Cover, and cook 8 hours on Low. 3.Remove roast, and set aside. Set slow cooker to High. Whisk together butter and flour, and slowly mix into the liquid remaining in the slow cooker to create a thick gravy. Serve with the roast.

Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
I made this yesterday and it was so good.
2lb London Broil (I like to brown my meat first, but it's not necessary) - season to your liking, I use salt, pepper, garlic and paprika
1 can condensed tomato soup 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup 1 pkg onion soup mix
Put London Broil in slow cooker
mix together tomato and cream of mushroom soup and pour over meat.
pour in pakage of dry onion soup mix.
The instructions I had was to cover and cook on LOW setting for 8-10 hours, but I think you can get away with 6-7 hours. The meat was a tad on the dry side at the 8 hour mark, but nonetheless still tasted good!

Re: Can you share your go-to CrockPot recipes??
I'll add one of my staples...
No-Peek Beef (I got this one from my MIL, she always named her recipes funny names to entice my DH and SILs to eat... this one means, don't lift the lid and peek!!).
2lbs of stewing beef, cut up 1 package of dry onion soup mix 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup 2 cans of mushrooms pieces (don't drain the liquid)
Mix all ingrediants together in Crock Pot and cook low 8 hours.
Serve over egg noodles.
SOO good leftover. It's kind like stew without the veggies.

Beef stroganoff:
I made this tonight for dinner. The flavor was really good. It was all liquid though, it didn't thicken up at all. Would definetly make it thicker next time.
