See, I think they look terrible. This style is just not flattering on the model pictured. I would put the model in a nice pair of boot cut jeans.

I don't think all clothes look well on all people.
I have always been "curvy" even when I was a size 2/4 years ago. I am short. Larger boobs. I don't wear skinny jeans. I don't wear spaghetti strap tops with no support. I don't wear skinny skirts.
At some point, you have to skip fashion trends, adapt to your OWN body type and play the fashion through accessories if the clothing are not flattering.

Personally, I'm very skinny- 5'4, 117 lbs.- and I don't think I look good in skinny jeans because I have very wide hips and a big old butt. 
ETA: And I agree with whoever the previous poster was about guys and skinny jeans. NO WAY! I have a friend who wears them all the time and I make fun of him constantly!

I agree. i dont think you have to be thin, Im overweight and I wear skinny jeans.
I am a size 8. My problem area is my stomache. I am not going to pair the skinny jeans with a mid drift or body suit top but something that flatters me around that area.
Skinny jeans actually make my legs look nicer. So idk why the majority is saying its for size 0 woman. I know plenty of non size 0 that wear skinny jeans and look fine.
Size 8 is certainly not overweight!
for me it is because I am really short, so for my frame and height I am a overweight.
But you are right, there are size 8 who are definitely not overweight.

Not a size 0 and wear skinny jeans. It may be a woman thing where we are our worst enemy. When we go out for work most of the women I see the guys hit on are the curvy girls in the skinny jeans not the size 0. Same thing on the Lirr platform and basically life. However my gay friends do find the size 0 girls to be sexy in their skinnies.

I say at least go try them on. If YOU'RE comfortable in them, wear them! Screw what anyone else thinks!
I'm a size 10 (sometimes a 12) and wear them. Don't care if someone thinks they look terrible or not. I don't dress for anyone but me.

I really had a problem with this when I was more heavier than I am now and I just went to the GAP and tried on a pair for the help of it
i was pleasantly surprised that they didnt look half bad and actually helped me look skinnier
i would go and at least try a pair on

I am disappointed that so many are saying no. I carry my weight up top (chest and tummy), but my legs are skinny for my body. Bootcut jeans look horrible on me. If I can find jeans that fit me in the tummy, they are wayyyyy baggy in the legs. Jeggings, which are pretty much the same thing as skinny jeans, but with a lot more stretch, have been the answer to my prayers. I've gotten many compliments when wearing them. And honestly, if someone doesn't like the way they look on me, tough. I love the way they make me look and they're beyond comfortable. Dress for yourself - no one else.

I think it has more to do with your body type than your weight. I've seen some skinny girls wear them and they looks AWFUL and I've seen some bigger girls wear them and look AMAZING! I really think it all depends on how you carry your weight and whether they are sized correctly...

I think if you pair them with boots, they could look good even if you aren't a stick. I hate the way skinny jeans look on me with any shoe other than a boot though. I am too hippy, so they make my butt look giganormous

but, i do wear them with tops that balance me out on top, something like a tunic or something that hides my tummy since that's my biggest problem area.
If i didn't have skinny jeans, i wouldn't be able to wear some of my favorite boots since my other jeans don't look right in them.
I have found them at Old Navy, Gap and Torrid - usually they have a little stretch in them which makes them the most comfortable
everyone has their own comfort level on what they want to wear, so if you find a pair you like, then go for it!

You can wear anything you want. HOWEVER, just because it is fashion doesn't mean its for everyone. I know my body type and I have a pretty nice hour glass figure (well pre-baby, but I will get back to that body I swear), I am not overweight, but I would NEVER EVER wear skinny jeans. IMO you should wear what flatters your figure the most. For me, that is boot cut.
ETA: I do think most anyone can wear skinny jeans with tall boots however...

I really think it depends on how overweight and where your weight is.
I am fat and when I wore BLACK skinny jeans and a normal fitting top and mid calf boots i didn't look that bad but if i wear flats I look scary since you see how skinny my ankles are compared to the rest of me. I think anything med blue to light and your heavy your crazy because your focusing on your huge hips and butt.
If your 5'6" and weight over 200 I think you should stick with the bootcut style but that is because I have a hipster friend who is 215 wears charcoal ripped skinny jeans with tapered legs with flats and its really not her prettiest look for her. She also wears to short/tight fitting tops in my mind.
Edit: also if you wear tunics with them (saw above post) i think it looks fine no matter what your size is.

I think it depends on a body type more than anything else. I have seen skinny girls in skinny jeans looking  and I have also seen not so skinny women in skinny jeans looking great.

I think it depends on your build.
I would never wear them. I am overweight and my legs are not very big, but I just wouldn't feel comfortable.
I will wear boot-cut and flare jeans until the day they stop making them. They are so flattering.
I don't know...I guess to me, it's kinda like how I could probably find a bikini in my size, but that does NOT mean I should wear it...ever....
