Candy centerpieces? Etiquette type question here...

If you saw a candy filled centerpiece would you take it apart during the party or would you leave it alone? Do you feel that it's for the look of the party or something you should eat from during the party?

For those that have done candy centerpieces, did you mind that people ate from it?

I ask because I went to a party and the host (mom) got upset that the little kids ran to all the tables picking out their favorite candies.

Well...for me I wouldn't touch it or allow my children to touch it until the event was over unless the host invited us to enjoy it during the party.

That said...I wouldn't have a problem with children taking from it if it was a few things here and there to enjoy during the party. I could understand maybe giving them a little something to enjoy especially to keep them quiet Chat Icon

Now if it was a full on free-for-all to take them apart I wouldn't be too happy if that occurred from the start. But otherwise they are there for the guests so it is what it is. What's most important in my book is that people like them Chat Icon
