Quick question for BTDT moms that REALLY used their front carrier (bjorn type)
if you used the carrier often, did you or would you get a second carrier for dh or other childcare giver.
I feel like my life would be much easier if I didn't have to adjust straps and such every time it went from me to dh...but not sure.
anyone have any experience/opinions?
TIA

If you have the extra $100 or so to spend on an additional bijorn or second carrier yeah it would be nice, but honestly it is not necessary. We used ours a lot and DH and I are completely different shapes. We were able to manage just fine with the one.

I used the carrier for a lot of the first few months. After the first 6 months, both babies were too heavy to carry for any length of time in the Bjorn.
The bjorn is really very easy to adjust so I don't think you need more then one. You kind of have adjust regardless because sometimes you're wearing something bulkier then other times.

DH and i have the bjorn and the straps adjust really, really easily. it never occurred to us to get a second one.
i personally prefer the sling because it's more comfortable.

Before you buy an additional one I would wait and make sure your baby likes it. My first hated it and screamed when I put her in it. My second lived in it. Not all babbies like being in it.

As others have mentioned, the Bjorn straps are super easy to adjust. It wouldn't bother getting another one, especially for a caregiver. She might not want to use it and then you are down all that money

Re: Quick question for BTDT moms that REALLY used their front carrier (bjorn type)
thanks guys.
i am actually not getting a bjorn...I just didn't know the proper term so not sure how easily the straps adjust.
I am registered for the Chicco something more expensive than their base model one (I am awesome, I know )
I saw the base model for gaga sale and thought maybe I'd get that as a spare, but it sold out before I could make up my mind...alas, it was not meant to be
I will take your advice about waiting to see how the baby and I (and dh) get on with it before sinking $$ into another one.
thanks again!

We had one Bjorn that we shared between my husband, my MIL and I. It is really no big deal to adjust the straps on a Bjorn. If you have spare $$, go for it. Otherwise, save the dough.

Same exact experience here. DD LIVED in the Bjorn for the first 6 months as I had to also take care of my 16 month old DS. I became a pro at the Bjorn and it only took seconds to adjust it.

The straps adjust pretty easily. However I would recommend something with lumbar support because wearing your baby really hurts your back after awhile, and the heavier the baby gets, the worse it is.
I really want an ergobaby carrier, I am trying to find a good deal on one.
