Cannot find a winter coat for DD that works for car seat too
Have looked what seems like everywhere. Want a warm coat that will work for to/from car, stores, etc...but can be worn in carseat too.
Had one from Old Navy last year that was perfect....it was thin (not bulky) but sherpa, so super-warm. Was perfect! Can't find anything that works for this year though. Anyone seen anything like that anywhere??
It's for my 3 year old.

I used this chenille sweater coat last year for DD and will be buying them for both DDs this year. I put a hat on DD and she kept very cozy. And they are sooo soft too! HTH! Chenille Hoodies

Lands End coats are warm and usually not big/bulky !! You can even go to some Sears and see them in person ! I know the one in Hicksville has some.
THIS ONE is warm and thin. They have some other styles too.
Also, if you search online and find a free shipping code you can order a few, have them shipped to you for free, pick which one / size you like, and return the others to Sears and it doesn't cost you anything more b/c you're not paying to ship them to you or back !!
And their snowpants & boots are good too !!
ETA: They have limited sizes/colors on the "overstock" portion of the website too, same quality, last season at cheaper prices !!

Try Hannah Anderson - I love their coats, they are warm but not bulky! I had the bunting winter coat for my DS when he was younger and loved it!

Re: Cannot find a winter coat for DD that works for car seat too
I always get Kaitlyn the squall jacket (this year I got the parka) from Lands End - they have been having some sales and you can check their overstock I got her a second one this year for $19.
It is the one that the car seat instillation person recommended. It is no puffy - and has a warmth rating. I believe the park is -15/25degrees and I think the jacket is -10/30 (means warmest with regular cloths at the warmer number and warm at the lowest number with the proper layering. This is the parka
This was the jacket on clearance - they have it not on clearance in other colors as well

ON has one again like that this year but apparently it is thinner than the ones from past years.
I bought a brown faux sherling from Crazy 8 for $20. It seems like it will be warm enough and I love the color (a purply brown)

Re: Cannot find a winter coat for DD that works for car seat too
I saw this at the Gap and thought this would be great for car, from car to store, and back, I think the vest part would be warm enough over a wool sweater, but I've only ever seen them for girls, and I don't know why. I don't think it would affect the carseat straps at all. I figured if we are taking more than a 5 minute walk a warmer jacket might be needed on top of it. I just wish I could find this in boys colors 12-18m.
