Car Accident/ Insurance Claim ?
Our friend hit our car. It was parked in our driveway. We were not in the car----we were in our house at the time.
Our friend called his insurance to file a claim and they are requiring us to give them our insurance information. They say they will not contact our insurance company, yet we must give our insurance information. (They can't give a reason why they need this info.)
Obviously I do not want my insurance to go up. Won't it go up in I give our insurance company info to this other company?

your insurance wont go up if your vehicle was parked
you should be able to collect directly from your friends insurance carrier (third party claim)

My car got hit in a parking lot when I wasn't in it. I contacted my insurance company just to let them know. The woman who hit me admitted to the entire thing. So when I contacted her insurance company they told me. My insurance never went up.

This happened to us as well. He pulled out of out driveway and hit our car. Provide the info. Your insurance wont go up. Ours didnt.

we were just hit while parked too. 
we did the claim through their insurance. they did not need our insurance info.
if we did the claim through our insurance we would need to collect deducible
