Car Sick
We usually take LuLu in the car at least once a week if we go to my mom's or the stores or the Dr. Well she got sick a few times in the car and always drools . I think she is nervous but does anyone have any ideas how to get her not to do either one of the above?

Re: Car Sick
I've heard that taking the pup in the car more often for short rides to get used to the movement.
I have an 8+ hr ride ahead of me soon and i am going to talk to the vet about Dramamine (I know some vets reccomend that).

Re: Car Sick
My female has always done this. Nothing cna be done about it, and she goes in the car alot (not just for vet or grooming). Dh and I have to sit in the back with her to prevent her from rocking around too much, this gets her sick faster. If you hold her tight, she may not throw up but if you make turns, forget it, poor girl can't keep it down. My vet told me I could use dramamine if it was a long trip and we needed her to be calm. But we have never used it, we just sit with her and try to keep her still and snuggled so she doesn't get so sick.
It's very upsetting...we hoped she would outgrow it but she did not. My male dog, forget it, he could ride in the car for hours.

Re: Car Sick
My big guy was sick for years until he grew out of it. Even now we hear some weird sounds sometimes so we keep the back windows open to give him some fresh air. I think it helps him.

Interesting!! Hershey was the same way and she was a female!! We always thought it might be connected to her being deaf (all that movement but no sound to go with it). We (well, mostly I) just had to deal with it before we were married. I lived in Queens and drove back & forth to DH in Suffolk most weekends with her. Once when we drove down to my mom's in SC we gave her a sedative from the vet and it was horrible
