Caring for Newly Pierced Ears
My mom pierced DD ears last weekend.
She said that the ear piercing place (local jewelry store that my mom trusts) told her to disinfect the area every day with rubbing alcohol and to turn the earrings every day using OLIVE OIL as a lubricant.
Does this sound right?
What were you told to do?

We were only told to clean with alchol and twist 2X a day...
Never heard of the olive oil
We pierced her ears at the pediatrician office.

I used the antiseptic that Claire's gave me when I had DD's ears done. We cleaned and twisted them 2 or 3 times a day. I never used olive oil

I used the solution that the jewlery store gave us and turned them morning and night. No olive oil. That sounds weird.

We were told not to use alcohol. I used the ointment the ped prescribed (thats where we had it done)

We had the done at the ped.
He said to clean them with alcohol and then put on antibiotic cream 2 times a day for 2 weeks.

My pediatrician did my DD's and it was a plastic base and not metal so there was no maintenance and was told less risk of infection...so I was told...
So we did nothing!
