carseats - chicco keyfit or graco snugride?
i am going to xpost this on parenting too, but what do you have or did you register for??
in research it seems the chicco is the safest cause it offers side impact protection that the snugride does not. but the graco is close behind in safety, is available with a lot more choices, and is compatible with a lot more strollers.
what are your thoughts if you registered or have either of these? why did you choose the one that you did?
am i a bad mom if i know the keyfit is safer but go with the snugride for style and convenience  ??
ETA - everyone i know has the snugride.

The snugride is great. We love it and still have DD in it at 9.5mo. She is 30inches long and 18lbs. If we had a Keyfit, she would have been in a convertible carseat months ago and I would not have been happy!
I have the snugride 35

I registered for the Graco because it's a better price than Chicco and has the same rave reviews. The only thing that made DH and I think twice was that I believe Chicco is longer in length and DH and I are bound to have a very tall child.

we registered for the chicco keyfit based on 3 recommendations from employees in the carseat department at buy buy baby.....i'm sure you can't go wrong though as they both appear to be safe seats

I did the Chicco because the gender neutral fabric I liked for the Graco (the platinum) looked and felt like it would be too hot in the summer for the baby.

I went with the Snugride because most of my friends had used them and I liked the Snugrider Snap N Go frame.
