Catholic nursery school requirements vs daycare
Do Catholic schools have different requirements in terms of adult to child ratio than regular daycare?
DS is 3 and right now there are 12 kids in his class and he has 3 adults.
I went to the Catholic school near me to inquire about their nursery program and they have a teacher and an aide and 22 kids.
Some of the kids are morning only, but that seems like a lot of kids for 2 adults?
Is this normal? Or are there different requirements because it is a school versus a daycare center?

My daycare is 2 to 24. But again, its the same thing not all 24 are there at the same time, every day.

Re: Catholic nursery school requirements vs daycare
Enrolled DS into Catholic Nursery for the 3 year old program starting in September.
They cap the class at 10 kids, have 1 teacher and 1 aide.

Wow, for what age group?
For 3 yr olds I think the ratio is 1:7

I would assume that the school is not licensed if it has a ratio like that.

I have no clue. I'm so new to this. Do private schools have to follow any kind of state requirements?

Re: Catholic nursery school requirements vs daycare
each catholic school has different requirements. Before having the baby I worked in a nursery program for a catholic school and the most kids we can have in a class is 15 and there are 2 teachers in the class -- and I must say 15 kids is alot to handle even with 2 of us in the room, we're like hawks for the entire day making sure they're all ok.
One of my classes had 9 students and it was perfect, I think having more than a 5:1 ratio is crazy.
