Re: Catholic Posters - What are you giving up for Lent?

Just about every year I give up chocolate (hey, it's a sacrifice I tell ya!), but this year instead of giving something up, I'm going to try to start going back to Mass on a regular basis.

I just thought about htis today. Since i am pregnant and it will be hard to give up anything that i am doing now (all the bad stuff went out the door when i found out), i am going to go to mass now on a regular basis...starting today!!

I also try to do the good thing too and I was thinking this year of copying something a friend of mine does - she writes a letter or a note to someone she knows every day. Even if it is a short postcard. It's a nice way to let other people know you are thinking of them and a way for me to make time in my day for other people.

I love this idea! I don't usually do things for lent but I am going to start doing this!

I don't know. I am already on an eating plan that has forced me to give up all refined carbs, so I have given up so much prior to lent, I don't know what I have left . . . .

DH and I are giving up cursing, we want to try to break ourselves of this habbit before we have kids. Every curse is going to cost a dollar, at the end of lent any money will be donated to the poor box.

This is a great idea...I am tired of giving stuff up anyway. It seems like such a waste and I usually forget at some point and do the thing I'm not supposed to.
