Ceiling fan question . . .
We have high hats in our bedrooms and want to add a ceiling fan in each room (we're dying at night without them)! We're debating on whether or not the ceiling fans should have a light on them or not. Many of the ones we're considering have an option for the light but it's not necessary. Would you want a light on your ceiling fan if you already had sufficient light from high hats in the room?

I have ceiling fans with lights, but I don't have high hats in the bedrooms. I wouldn't get the fan with the lights if I had sufficient lighting otherwise.

If I had other lights I would get without, sometimes the globes on the lights get loose and get nosiy until you remeber to climb up there and fix it, we always remember while we are in bed trying to sleep....

We have 3 fans and have high hats in all the rooms.
The 2 in the bedrooms don't have lights.
But the 1 in the living room does. I do sometimes use the lights on the fan, but I don't think it's needed. Espeically if you have dimmers on the high hats.

I agree with the pp's. Being that you have the high hats, I'd get a fan w/out a light.

Would the fan overlap the lights? Would the blades make a flicker passing over the lights on. If yes, than I would want a seperate light. It gets dizzying after a while.

I only have 3 high hats and a ceiling fan w/out lights. I wish there were lights on ours b/c the room is too dark w/just the high hats on.

we have hi-hats in our den, and have a plain white ceiling fan without any lights. i am happy with that decision. i just bought the exact same ceiling fan for our bedroom. we don't have hi-hats in there, but lamps on each nightstand and 2 getting sconces installed on the walls as well. i think with sufficient lighting already, a light on the fan isn't necessary at all.
