Re: Central Air costs?

see my post below about people not getting back to us! LOL
anyway- we had 4 people come out last week to look at adding AC to our house. our house is set up strangely. even though its probably 2200 square feet, the part we want to AC is 1500 square feet. the guys haven't given us a final estimate yet... but just off the top of their heads, they were saying anywhere from 8-12 K. this includes duct work, the unit, etc. but can vary on which unit you want, the layout of the house, number of vents needed, etc.

Re: Central Air costs?

There will be lots of varying costs depending on the type of house, the effeciency of hte ac etc.

We just put a new ac unit in (the duct works was there) and it was about 6000 for a top energy efficient model. We also did it in October which I was told is less...

My BIL put 2 units in his colonial including duct work asl installed in October and it was about 13-14K

its a colonial and the units don't exist so they would be new, so they would be effeciant

No what I mean is we got new AC unit in the fall. For a 14 seer it was say 4K, for a 16 seer it was say 6K. Then for the 2.5 ton unit it was X and then for the 3 ton unit it was XX.

Re: Central Air costs?

It would probably run about 15K...

Our place has central air, but its not zoned off. To have it zoned off would cost us about 5K.
