Central air problems
Does anyone recommend someone for HVAC? Our central air isn't working properly. The unit is turning on outside but hardly any air is coming through out vents.
Any thoughts/quick fixes?

Re: Central air problems
I'm having that issue now! Waiting for the guy as I write. When I turn it off for a few hours it works again. Will let you know what happens. Will get his # too because it's my mom's condo so she arranged it. Great guy and highly recommend.

Re: Central air problems
Have you checked all of the filters? Dirty filters can stop air flow.

Re: Central air problems
Oh boy. we just went through this. Our compressor outside died and we had to replace the entire unit. We used Apple Air in Seaford. It was pricey to replace but I will say they did a good job and cleaned after themselves.

Thanks everyone. I am going to try replacing the filter. Hoping thats it. Although it doesn't look too bad.

Have you serviced it? We have central air in our new home, moved in last August and it worked fine, this year it wasnt working well. We changed filter and my DH even cleaned outside coils didn't help. We had a repair man come and he serviced the unit, apparently central ac systems need annual servicing like cars, running great since then.

That is a sign of an underlying issue. You should definitely have it checked out by a CAC vendor or else it could easily happen again.

Yeah turns out this is our issue too. There is a leak somewhere that we have to find. It's a new unit but piping is old. Did they recharge it?

Our friend does HVAC and CAC - he is coming over Saturday to take a look. He had some ideas. Luckily it hasn't been too hot!!
