Did anyone put cereal in their babies bottles at 3 weeks old? my baby is 9lbs + and people have been saying to add cereal to his bottle to have him sleep longer...has anyone done this?

Re: cereal in bottles
No. You should not do this. It is a choking hazard and should only be done for babies with reflux.
And it is an old wives tale that cereal makes DC sleep longer.
My DS started cereal, on a spoon, at 4 months, he didn't sleep through the night til 1 year old!
ETA: Cereal is just for practice, DC's nutrients are from formula/bm. Also, 9lbs at 3 weeks is a pretty normal size

I have a baby with reflux, went to a specialist and she even said it's a last resort.

Re: cereal in bottles
my DS has reflux. when he was 6 wks I was told to put cereal in his bottle, I did and he did not sleep ONE minute longer, was still just as hungry and drank just as much BM. I would wait till he is closer to 3 months

I tried with Sydnie and she didn't sleep any longer or go any longer between feedings. I plan on trying next week with a spoon (she'll be 4 months old).

Re: cereal in bottles
cereal (and food in general) didn't help DS sleep any better at all. i believe it's an old wives tale
