Certification requirements?
I'm so confused. I graduated in May '03 and my provisional certification went into effect Sept. '03. I recently finished my masters in literacy. I thought I just had to take the literacy CST and do the video to be permanently certified. My friend is telling me that you have to take 2 CSTs? Does anybody know if this is true? TIA

Re: Certification requirements?
Because you got your provisional certificate before Feb. '04, your requirements are different than those of newer teachers. Everything changed in Feb. '04. For one thing, those newer teachers don't have to do a video. You do. (It's okay - your reward is that you get a Permanent License out of it, instead of a "Professional License" which is the new one - that one you have to go through the trouble of renewing every five years).

Re: Certification requirements?
I got my provisional in 2001 and my permanent in 2005. My elementary certi is now a permanent but my Special Ed is a professional... i had to take 2 CSTs. One was for my permanent and the other was for my professional.
