Change in eating and sleeping at 8 months?

James was 8 months on the 10th. Since that very day, his eating and sleeping habits completely changed. He's also STARVING alllllllllllll the time.

He eats 6 stage 2 jars (2 per "meal") and 3-4 bottles ranging from 5-8 ounces.

He goes to sleep at 6:45-7:00. At that bedtime bottle, he'll usually take 5 ounces or so. About an hour or 2 later, he's up screaming to eat again - he'll suck down an 8 ounce bottle in like less than 5 minutes and go right back to sleep.

He also doesn't nap well in the afternoons anymore. He'll sleep from maybe 1 until 2 and that's it until he goes to bed. Needless to say that by the time 6pm rolls around, he's a cranky, whiny mess.

I don't know how to fix the napping and eating situations. Last night, I tried only feeding him 1 stage 2 jar for dinner. He did drink 6 ounces at bedtime, but then he was up at 11:30 screaming for food.

Any suggestions as to what I can do? At night, I try EVERYTHING to get him to go back down, but he's wide awake and screaming - the only thing that will make him sleepy is the bottle. I would think that if he wasn't hungry, he wouldn't drink the 8 oz as quickly as he does, right? He goes right back to sleep after he eats.

Awe... Poor James! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sounds to me like it could be a growth spurt and teething mix. Of course I'm no expert though so it's just a guess. When you get everything down to a schedule everything changes

Mason was is teething he*& at 10 months. B4 that he had a growth spurt where he'd literally have 8 oz (suck it dry) then cry for more so I'd give him 2 more oz. 10 oz!!!

Hopefully it's a phase Chat Icon

Sounds like we're in the same boat. I miss my 13-hour sleeper! Chat Icon

James is showing all of the signs of teething, but there's NOTHING on the horizon with his gums. Not swollen, not red, nothing but plain light pink baby gums. Chat Icon
