Re: Charlotte ladies - We're coming to visit the first week of July!

I got my teaching position pretty quickly. No, the pay is NOT what it is up here, but to me it's all relative. I could have been making over 60k here...but my mortgage would also be over 3k a month. In NC, I'll have my brand new "forever" home for much less. Plus, DH will still be making NY salary!
Your DH getting is NY salary is awesome...id move if I could get my NY salary, but that wont happen

what does she do? We were looking into Raleigh not Charlotte, Raleigh is more expensive, so they pay cuts versus lower housing for us left us with the same amount of $$ at the end of they day.

make sure to take a ton of pics for us like last time oh you KNOW I will! we're def going for longer this time. we loved the area!
and btw - don't base salary on what you've heard or found on salary.com. I interviewed for a job in Cary that was paying $10K MORE than I was making here. sadly I didn't get the job, but making less $ in the south is no longer the case. 9 out of 10 jobs I have seen on LI pay $40-$50k, for a professional level job that reuiqres degrees and tons of experience
